Jerusalem Delivered is made up of photographs taken over a series of visits from 1993-2007. Moving between different religious and social groups, it explores how the idea of Jerusalem as a perpetually contested holy city shapes the lives of the people inhabiting it. Largely avoiding reference to the sites and scenes familiar to tourists and journalists, it attempts to describe the characteristic energy and patterns of public life, suggesting the complexity of individual identity within a culture of territorial conflict.
The book contains 54 duotone images over 116 pages in illustrated covers with sewn binding. It was designed by the Office of Gilbert Li and printed in an edition of 250 by Type A in Belgium.
